Give Back To Haiti THE INFRASTRUCTURE PROJECT

Of the more than 2 million affected survivors, more than 1.5 million were left homeless. Today, land tenure remains the biggest roadblock to rebuilding in Haiti. Only clear and transparent land transfer processes can ensure that long-term housing reconstruction and redevelopment can take place.
We are dedicated to tackling housing poverty in Haiti by helping low-income families gain access to decent housing and accompanying them along their pathways to permanent housing. Our plan is to Rehabilitate Neighborhood Sidewalks and footpaths, Help Build Roads, Install Solar-Powered Street Lightning, Building Drainage Canals and Sewers, and other critical infrastructure in Arcahaie.  Create green spaces that allows a safe and durable future for residents.
We are working with representatives from community-based organizations to:

Train and hire people within the community to work on the projects
Install electrical transformers in the community
Rehabilitate several roads and alleyways (known as corridors in Haiti)
Expand a health centers within the neighborhoods of Arcahaie.

Having access to housing, basic sanitation and clean water are simple and basic needs. Today, there is an acute shortage of key infrastructure to support Haiti’s systems for education, healthcare, hygiene and sanitation, economic development, and disaster preparedness.

The plan includes the implementation of infrastructure programs, such as:

– Building and Repairing Roads
– Removing Rubble & Trash
– Adding street lighting
– Installing water points for clean water and drainage
– Retrofitting homes (a structural retrofit improves the original house by strengthening it against future natural disasters)
– Training residents in vocational skills: basic and advanced construction, financial literacy, disaster-risk reduction, basic home maintenance, conflict management and gender equality
– Training local community councils to maintain and keep the legacy
